The present invention provides a probe head for a gear testing device having less errors and failures and high stability, by mechanically buffering an error made of a collision. The probe head for a gear testing device, comprises: a measuring head mounted on a body of the gear testing device; a measuring probe which measures a target measuring work gear as a measuring point, causing a displacement if there is a difference between a theoretical value; a variable recovery means having a buffer capacity for mechanical collision in accordance with an input error, or making the measuring probe to move back to an original position after a dynamic movement of the measuring probe.
