The present technology pertains to: a detection device and method that are able to detect the biological state of a human body easily and accurately; and a program. A tear detection unit (26) is provided to a contact-lens display device, user affect information is detected by sampling tears of an eyeball and analyzing the components thereof, and the detection results are transmitted and displayed at a portable terminal (SP) by means of the contact-lens display device (11). As a result, it is possible to detect a biological state on the basis of the components of user tears, and so it is possible to accurately detect the biological state of a user. The present technology can be applied to a contact-lens display unit. |
