Provided is a sandwich assay for quantifying a glycoprotein, said glycoprotein being a substance to be detected, in a sample with the use of a labeled lectin, wherein influence originating from an impurity, i.e., noise on a quantitative value of the substance to be detected, is suppressed by introducing a simple treatment. The sandwich assay comprises a treatment for suppressing the binding of the labeled lectin to a sugar chain carried by the impurity in a sample, which has been nonspecifically adsorbed in a measurement area, said sugar chain being the same as a sugar chain carried by the substance to be detected. When the impurity is a glycoprotein having the same sugar chain as the substance to be detected, it is preferred that the treatment for suppressing the binding of the labeled lectin to the sugar chain comprises adding to the sample a substance capable of cleaving a disulfide bond in the impurity and thus dissociating a domain, said domain having the same sugar chain as the substance to be detected, from the impurity. |
