1,053,472. Electrically-heated windscreens. GLAVERBEL. April 16, 1964 [April 30, 1963] No. 15783/64. Heading H5H. To reduce uneven temperature distribution in an electrically-heated windscreen of the type comprising a transparent conductive film 2 (metal or a metal oxide) deposited on a glass sheet 1 and supplied through parallel conductive enamel electrodes 3, 4, grooves 12, 13, 14 are cut into the film 2 to divide it into strips 9, 10, 11 preferably of equal width. Members 1 . . . 4 are bonded by a layer of transparent adhesive to another glass sheet, Fig. 2 (not shown). In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), a quadrilateral-shaped windscreen has a trapeziumshaped heated portion with the two electrodes disposed along its parallel sides, each electrode being divided into the same number of equalwidth portions between which the grooves extend. |
