A support board 1 with a base 2 and a covering canopy 14 formed of a top panel 16 and two sides 18, the sides 18 extending between the base 2 and the top 16. The canopy 14 is moved by a hinge assembly (34, fig 12) comprising a first (42, fig 12) and second (44, fig 12) member pivotally connected, the members moveable between a folded and an extended configuration. The hinge has a latch (94, fig 15) to retain the members in the extended configuration and a detent means to prevent the angle between first and second members exceeding 180 degrees. The board may be a clipboard. The hinge may comprise hinge plates and may comprise a gudgeon (72, fig 12) and a pintle (74, fig 12). The latch (94, fig 15) may be a projection on the first member and an engaging lip on the second member. The projection may extend from a cantilever arm 80. The hinge assembly (34, fig 12) may be attached to the hinged canopy 14 by sliding into pockets 36. |
