Provided are an image processing device, an image processing method, and a program, whereby a life-size image of an input image subject can be displayed at a position that gives a greater sense of realism. This image processing device comprises an image size adjustment unit and a display position determination unit. The image size adjustment unit adjusts the size of the input image such that the input image subject is displayed in life size from a display area. A display position determination unit determines the display position in the display area, for the life-size image having the size of the input image adjusted, said determination being made on the basis of the positional relationship between a first basal plane for a space where the display area exists and the display area.
