In order to generate an accurate environmental map while reducing the cost of error correction work, there is provided a map generation device which is characterized by: obtaining a plurality of pieces of measurement data (131) measured by a measurement device capable of measuring the dimensions of ambient objects; selecting predetermined pieces of measurement data (131) from among the plurality of pieces of measurement data (131); generating a preliminary map (210) on the basis of pieces of measurement data (131) selected by a record selection unit (114), and modifying the positions and orientations of shape elements (211), (212) constituting the preliminary map (210); and generating an environmental map (230) on the basis of the modified preliminary map (220) and the plurality of pieces of measurement data (131). |
