The present invention relates to a culture medium composition for backward differentiation of pluripotent stem cells, containing an Ecklonia cava extract. In addition, the present invention relates to a method for producing pluripotent stem cells using the culture medium composition. If using the culture medium composition according to the present invention, it is possible to efficiently produce pluripotent stem cells easily and safely by using adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells, and the produced pluripotent stem cells can differentiate into various cells, thereby being useful as a cell therapy product.
