A device for holding coils in a machine for bending and twisting them for use in armatures includes two pairs of grippers for clamping the ends of the longitudinal stretches of the coils. Each gripper comprises a support 12 on which is fixed a part 14 presenting a plane surface, a first element 15 which is movable perpendicularly to the plane surface, and a second element 19, which is movable along a plane inclined to the plane surface, the element 19 having an L-shaped end co-operating with the plane end of the element 15 and the plane surface of the part 14 to effect the clamping. The winding to be shaped is located in a space 23 with the elements 15, 19 withdrawn. The element 15 is first advanced and then the element 19 to compress the winding by a part 22 against the element 15 and against the part 14 by the element 19. The parts 14, 22 are replaceable to allow for coils of different sizes and the part 22 is adjustable on the element 19. The grippers which form part of the devices (6) (7), are slidably mounted on pivoted arms (3), (4) of a coil forming machine, Figs. 1, 2 (not shown).</p> |
