A synthetic resin film is formed on an area of a valve plate (117) that is in contact with an arm part of an intake valve (120), or an area of the valve plate (117) that is in contact with an arm part of a discharge valve (121). This minimizes lag in the opening of the intake valve (120) and the discharge valve (121) caused by the adsorptive force of refrigerator oil, and reduces pressure loss during the intake stroke and the discharge stroke, thereby improving compressor efficiency. The sounds of impact produced when the intake valve (120) or the discharge valve (121) closes are also reduced by the elastic effect of the synthetic resin film, thereby making the compressor less noisy.
