摘要 Systems, devices and methods are provided, which establish unidirectional or bidirectional communication via optical target marking and avoiding any other communication media. An aiming system comprises a spotter's laser designator that irradiates a target to yield spot(s) which are modulated by data-encoded signals and a sniper's detector configured to detect the spot(s) and decode the encoded data from the detected spot(s). Thus, modifications or modulation of the signals, irradiated to create respective spots, convey information. The system may be made bidirectional by providing a laser designator to the sniper and a detector to the spotter to allow respective communication, and be expanded by incorporating multiple sniper teams and a control center, all communicating via modulated signals, irradiated on targets and other objects to create respective information-carrying spots.
