A tire (12) is disclosed comprising a pneumatic cavity (40), first and second sidewalls (30, 32) extending respectively from first and second tire bead regions (34, 36) to a tire tread region (38), the first sidewall (30) having at least one bending region operatively bending when radially within a rolling tire footprint (120), and a chafer component with an air passageway (43) resiliently deforming segment by segment between an expanded condition and an at least partially collapsed condition in response to respective segment by segment deformation of the first sidewall (30) when radially within the rolling tire footprint (120). The tire (12) is operatively pumping a constant volume of air for every revolution of the tire (12).
