<p>A rod rest 2 for use in angling comprises a body 4 which has a longitudinal axis, a plurality of slots 6 which extend transversely of the body and which are for receiving at least one fishing rod, connector means 8 for connecting the rod rest to a support structure, position-retaining means 10 for each one of the slots, the position-retaining means being for retaining the fishing rod in position in the slot in which the fishing rod has been placed, a first stop member 12 at a first end 14 of the body and a second stop member 16 at a second end 18 of the body. The first and second stop members are rotatable, preferably via an indexing mechanism, about the longitudinal axis to an angular position in which they stop the rod falling off the first and second ends of the body portion during angling.
