An exhaust gas treatment apparatus is provided. The exhaust gas treatment apparatus can include: a housing having an exhaust gas treatment space provided therein, including an exhaust gas inlet provided to one side thereof, and including an exhaust gas outlet provided to the other side thereof; a carrier to be accommodated in the exhaust gas treatment space; and a metal oxide nanostructure catalyst formed on the surface of the carrier and treating an exhaust gas inflowing from the exhaust gas inlet. Therefore, a catalyst converting area is increased by forming the nanostructure catalyst on the surface of the carrier so as to improve purification efficiency, thereby providing an exhaust gas treatment apparatus having sufficient purification efficiency even when a nonprecious metal catalyst is used instead of a precious metal catalyst. In addition, problems during a cold start can be mitigated by using cobalt oxide as a catalyst from among nonprecious metal catalysts.
