This coating composition is used to form a lubricant layer (3) for enhancing lubricity with respect to a fluid substance on the surface of a substrate (1) molded into a predetermined shape, and is characterized by including as a dispersion medium a liquid (5) as a component of the lubricant layer (3), solid particles (7) as a component of the lubricant layer (3) being dispersed in the dispersion medium. The lubricant layer (3) formed by the coating composition further enhances lubricity with respect to a fluid substance, and is suitable for use in forming a lubricant layer (3) provided to an inner face of a packaging material such as for a container or lid.
