Provided are a nucleic acid extractor waste liquid container (7), a nucleic acid extractor, and a control method; comprised are a waste liquid cavity (1), and a storage cavity (2) used for storing a pipette head (3); either the waste liquid cavity or the storage cavity has a support face (4) used for supporting the pipette head, and either the waste liquid cavity or the storage cavity has a holding face (5). The waste liquid container simultaneously has the two functions of storing waste liquid and storing the pipette head, thus effectively reducing the consumption of pipette heads, and also effectively reducing the travel distance of the pipetting mechanism after it has sucked away the waste liquid.
