The present invention relates to photocatalytic sol causing an oxidation-reduction reaction and a method for removing a pollutant using the same and, more specifically, to photocatalytic sol causing an oxidation-reduction reaction and a method for removing a pollutant using the same, wherein degradation efficiency of the pollutant is increased by using the photocatalytic sol in which transition metal copper is supported. The method for removing a pollutant using photocatalytic sol comprises: a photocatalytic sol producing step of producing the photocatalytic sol by mixing an alcohol-based solution, a copper precursor containing copper which is a transition metal, a titanium precursor, an aqueous solvent, and an acid catalyst in a reactor, and then stirring and heating the same; an oxidation step of oxidizing the copper while primarily degrading a pollutant in the air using photooxidative degradation by irradiating light to the photocatalytic sol; and a reduction step of secondarily degrading the pollutant in the air using reduction of the oxidized copper by leaving the photocatalytic sol gone through the oxidation step at room temperature. |
