A combination barometer and clock with rotating hands to display time on a clock face 10, though which weather conditions are displayed. A barometer mechanism moves multiple display discs 14, 17, 18, which are mounted on a drive shaft 50 behind the clock face. The display discs are rotated depending on signals from a barometric sensor. An aperture 19 in the clock face reveals the appropriate barometric display disc corresponding to the atmospheric condition. Other discs remain hidden. The display discs may be shaped as a weather feature, have pictures or words to indicate weather conditions. The barometer drive mechanism may also have a gear arrangement (e.g., 35, 36 fig 9) to control symbols representing orbits of the sun or planets. A microprocessor and memory may be used to monitor signals from the barometric sensor, measuring pressure changes at time intervals and allocating the pressure signal into bands such as fair, dry, stormy or changeable weather. |
