A joystick 12 that is mechanically linked to three separate spool valves 18, each spool valve operating a different function of the machine or vehicle that the joystick is operating. The joystick is capable of moving in 3 different axis, and each axis will actuate a different valve. The joystick is capable of performing both primary and secondary functions of the machine. That is both driving it forwards, and operating an arm, or a claw for grabbing objects. The joystick may be connected to the machine by plug connectors 22, and the drive controls may be located on a different part of the joystick assembly 10, or even on another part of the machine. A second invention defines at least two axis of movement, one of them being a twist axis. A third invention defines a joystick that is moveable in a fourth axis between a first and second position, where the joystick can move freely in the first position, but the twisting motion is locked in the second position. Further the third invention does not require there to be a mechanical linkage with the spool valves. |
