The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for providing a web application service wherein web of things (WoT) resource, which can be used in a web application service environment, is autonomously registered and advertised on a web application service, and a service is provided to register, update, and delete the WoT resource according to change in the web application service environment. The method for providing a web application service includes the steps of: receiving an information registration request from a terminal for providing a WoT service or a web service; determining validity of registration of the WoT service or the web service based on a predetermined policy according to the information registration request; providing the web application service after determining whether the WoT service or the web service should be registered and an advertisement should be allowed based on a result of determining the validity of registration; and periodically or non-periodically reauthenticating registered or rejected objects based on the policies according to information and a state of the web application service.
