EMOTION DECISION METHOD AND APPARATUS OF MUSIC

A method and an apparatus for determining an emotion for music are disclosed. The method for determining an emotion for music comprises the steps of: (a) extracting characteristic elements of music from the music being analyzed; (b) standardizing the extracted characteristic elements of music and applying a predetermined combination of added weigh to derive a value of happiness and a value of excitement; (c) applying the derived values of happiness and excitement to a two-dimensional emotion model to determine an area of emotion probability distribution; (d) deriving emotion probability for each emotion included in the two-dimensional emotion model based on the determined area of emotion probability distribution; and (e) determining the emotion having the highest emotion probability value among the derived emotion probability values as the emotion for the analyzed music.
