Provided are a method and apparatus for transmitting a signal of a multi-node system employing a plurality of nodes distributed geographically and a base station that can be controlled by being connected with each of the plurality of nodes. The method includes: mapping a plurality of codewords to a plurality of streams; mapping the plurality of streams to at least one node among the plurality of nodes; performing multiple input multiple output (MIMO) precoding to map the streams mapped to the at least one node to at least one transmit antennas; and transmitting a signal subjected to the MIMO precoding to a user equipment.

1. A method of transmitting a signal of a multi-node system employing a plurality of nodes and a base station that can be controlled by being connected with each of the plurality of nodes, the method comprising:
transmitting first stream-node mapping information by the base station to a user equipment, wherein the first stream-node mapping information is information indicating a mapping relation between a plurality of streams and at least one node; mapping a plurality of codewords to the plurality of streams; mapping the plurality of streams to at least one node among the plurality of nodes based on the first stream-node mapping information; performing multiple input multiple output (MIMO) precoding to map the streams mapped to the at least one node to at least one transmit antennas; transmitting a signal subjected to the MIMO precoding to the user equipment; and receiving a feedback of preferred node information from the user equipment, wherein the preferred node information includes mapping information between a stream and a node recommended by the user equipment, wherein a total number of the plurality of streams mapped to each of the plurality of nodes is greater than or equal to a number of the plurality of streams, and wherein a number of the plurality of streams mapped to the at least one node among the plurality of nodes is less than or equal to the number of the plurality of streams.
