PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle-diagnosing data collection apparatus and a data collection method, which enable at least one of reducing man-hour for a data collection setup and preventing an erroneous data collection setup.SOLUTION: A data collection apparatus 18 performs, sequentially: setting a category of a target ECU and storing, in a storage part 84, an item of a drive parameter in correlation with an ID of individuality of the plural ECU, the parameter that can be output from plural ECUs; identifying a mounted ECU as a target ECU by inquiring a vehicle 12 of presence of the mounted ECU for each category; and setting, as a collection item, an item of the drive parameter that can be output from the mounted ECU that has been identified as the target ECU, on the basis of the ID of the incorporated ECU. |
