The present invention relates to a flow control device configured to be used in a thermoelectric generator (10) which can generate a temperature gradient between a cold source and a heat source in at least two areas (A, B). The flow control device comprises a valve (30) equipped with a valve body (32) and a gate (34). The gate (34) is hinged to the valve body (32) and can occupy an open position and closed position. The valve (30) is configured to be disposed in the thermoelectric generator (10) between the two areas (A, B) to adjust the amount of a first fluid circulating through the thermoelectric generator (10).
