PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus that can prevent contact between the leading end of a subsequent sheet and a recording head in a configuration capable of recording on the subsequent sheet in a state where recording sheets are overlapped with each other in a conveying direction.SOLUTION: The recording apparatus includes: a feeding roller for feeding recording sheets stacked on a stacker; a conveying roller for conveying the recording sheets fed by the feeding roller; a recorder for performing recording on the recording sheets conveyed by the conveying roller; a conveyance controller capable of controlling conveyance of the recording sheets such that the rear end of a preceding sheet, which is a recording sheet fed from the stacker first, is overlapped with the leading end of a subsequent sheet, which is a recording sheet fed from the stacker later; an acquirer for acquiring information on a leading-end position after location of the head of the subsequent sheet, before completion of a recording operation to the preceding sheet; and a determiner for determining whether to convey the subsequent sheet to a position opposite to the recorder while maintaining the overlapped state of the preceding sheet and the subsequent sheet depending on the leading-end position after location of the head of the subsequent sheet. |
