Novel compounds having the general formula (and their salts with organic and inorganic acids and alkyl halides) wherein R is an alkyl, aryl or aralkyl group which may be substituted by one or more halogen atoms, alkyl, hydroxy, alkoxy, -CF 3 , -NO 2 , -NH 2 , mono- or di-alkylamino radicals; R 1 is an alkyl or cycloalkyl radical; R 2 is an alkyl or aralkyl radical or R 1 and R 2 together with the adjacent N-atom represents a heterocyclic ring which may include a further hetero atom and R 3 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical, are prepared by reducing the corresponding keto-compounds (i.e. pyrryl- CO.CHR 3 .NR 1 R 2 ). Pharmaceutical preparations active on the central or peripheral nervous system contain as effective ingredient the above novel compounds and may be administered orally, subcutaneously or intravenously.
