Disclosed are an operating method for preventing a printing error and a printer operated by the same. The operating method for preventing the printing error (S200) according to an embodiment of the present invention, embedded as a program in the printer, comprises: a) a printed material space determining step (S210) of analyzing predetermined data including printing data transmitted from a host apparatus to determine the size of a space in each page of the printed matter included in the printing data; and a printing error informing step (S220) of, in the case that half space or more exists in at least one page among each page of the printed matter included in the printing data, stopping the printing operation and informing a user of stopping the printing operation. The operating method for preventing the printing error according to the present invention includes the steps of stopping the printing operation and then informing the user of stopping the printing operation in the case that the size of the space in each page of the printed matter included in the printing data is excessively large, thereby preventing the printing error which can be generated due to the size of a set sheet. |
