PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cam journal with which a camshaft can be easily assembled and that is light in weight.SOLUTION: A cam journal 11 includes a journal hole 12 and rotatably supports an intake camshaft 15 inserted into the journal hole 12. In this cam journal 11, an axial length L1 of an upper portion 23 of an inner circumferential surface 22 in which the journal hole 12 is formed for receiving a load by a reaction force from a valve spring is set larger than an axial length L2 of a lower portion 24 located opposite to the upper portion 23 across a central axis C of the journal hole 12. Furthermore, in this cam journal 11, an opening edge 21 of the journal hole 12 on an end surface 19 out of two end surfaces in an extension direction of the central axis C is located on a plane orthogonal to the central axis over an entire circumference. |
