PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily perform exchange of a paper feeding roller 44 and a paper feed roller shaft.SOLUTION: A sheet transport device includes: a holder member which rotatably supports a paper feeding roller 44 and a paper feed roller shaft for transporting sheets; a paper feed cover which detachably supports the holder member; a projection part 72a provided to the holder member; a step part 57a which is provided to the paper feed cover and is engaged with the projection part 72a; and an elastic deformation end part 72c which is provided to the holder member, and enables engagement between the projection part 72a and a feed paper transportation guide 57 to be released by being held by a service engineer to take out the holder member integrally with the paper feeding roller 44 and the paper feed roller shaft from the paper feed cover. When the elastic deformation end part 72c is deformed, the paper feeding roller 44 and the paper feed shaft can be easily exchanged.
