The present invention relates to a smart brake system for braking a vehicle, wherein the stability of a vehicle can be improved by normally operating a vacuum pump and ensuring the braking force of the vehicle having a vacuum braking booster mounted thereon in any situation that the vehicle is driving, has been stopped or is driving with an engine stopped. An ignition switch with which a driver ignites an engine by turning an engine key while sitting on a driver seat, a battery for supplying power to a vehicle, a velocity sensor for detecting the driving velocity of the vehicle, a hand brake switch and a foot brake switch used during parking, and a vacuum pressure sensor are configured to be connected to a single control unit (10), and a vacuum pump unit and the vacuum pump are sequentially operated or the vacuum pump is stopped if conditions for determination are input and set as numbers and the set conditions are satisfied.
