PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insect repellant that has a high repelling effect against harmful insects, is good in long-lasting and yet is low in toxicity to humans and animals as well as to field crops, has no soil contamination, and is simple to be used, and to provide an insect repelling method.SOLUTION: The insect repellant contains a combination of at least each one or more of a compound selected from cyclic monoterpene alcohols, and/or a compound selected from cyclic monoterpene ketones, and a compound selected from cyclic sesquiterpenes as an active ingredient, and is made by using it as it is, or impregnating it into a suitable carrier or mixing it with a carrier, and optionally adding additives, in order to make it into a repellant dosage form such as a solid formulation, an oil formulation (a liquid formulation), an emulsion formulation, a wettable powder formulation, a paste formulation, a gel formulation, an aerosol formulation, and a micro-capsule formulation, and the insect repellant is applied by means of any of atomizing, spraying, coating, volatilizing and smoking. |
