摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial magnetic conductor having frequency characteristics which are closer to frequency characteristics of a design value and more accurate in comparison with the prior arts, and a reflector for an antenna employing the artificial magnetic conductor.SOLUTION: An artificial magnetic conductor includes: a dielectric substrate; a basic cell which is formed on the surface of the dielectric substrate and composed of a patch pattern and a loop pattern that is formed while having a predetermined gap to the patch pattern; a frequency selection surface with which the basic cells are arrayed on a front side of the dielectric substrate cyclically in longitudinal and lateral directions; and a conductor film formed on a rear side of the dielectric substrate. A phase change between an incident wave and a reflection wave in the dielectric substrate is defined as an addition value of a first phase change in the gap and a second phase change between the basic cell and the conductor film in the dielectric substrate. While using the addition value, thickness of the dielectric substrate is calculated by a predetermined formula.
