PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus capable of surely and easily protecting a honeybee from a hornet.SOLUTION: A honeybee protection apparatus 2 comprises: plates 21, 22 facing to each other in a longitudinal direction; plural strings 24 stretched in parallel between the plates; and fixing members 26 for fixing the apparatus to a bee hive 7. One end side of the string 24 is coupled to the upper plate 21 and the other side of the string 24 is fixed to the lower plate 22. Intervals of the strings 24 suspending in front of a hive gate 8 are set to 5 cm. The apparatus as such is attached to the bee hive, therefore a hornet does not approach the bee hive and thereby the honeybee can be protected easily and surely from the hornet. As the apparatus is formed of two plates and plural strings, production cost thereof is inexpensive and the honeybee protection apparatus can be provided to a beekeeper who is struggling to find a countermeasure to hornet at low cost. The apparatus is provided to protect the honeybee and not to kill hornets excessively, therefore there is no risk of upsetting an ecosystem balance. |
