PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical instrument allowing an operator to visually recognize the internal state of a lumen of a sheath even when the sheath is significantly deeply inserted into the lumen.SOLUTION: A medical instrument (a catheter) 100 includes: a sheath 10 having a long tubular shape and including a lumen 20; a hollow hub 50; and a protector 60. The hub 50 is provided at a distal side of the sheath 10, with it communicated to the lumen 20 of the sheath 10 and holds the outer periphery of a distal end 14 of the sheath 10. The medical instrument (the catheter) 100 is so configured that both of the protector 60 and a holding area 16 held by the protector 60, out of the distal end 14 of the sheath 10 have visible-light permeability. This configuration allows an operator to visually confirm the internal state of the lumen 20. |
