<p>The device has a sausage casing made up of organic material and including links that are provided in region between two sausages. A conveying unit (5) consists of a transparent material, and transports a sausage strand (2) through a tubular microwave applicator (6) i.e. mono mode-applicator, which is connected with a microwave generating unit for generating microwave radiation to be supplied by the microwave applicator. The microwave applicator includes an inner tube (20) and a radial opening (19) for feeding the external microwave radiation that is generated by the microwave applicator. An independent claim is also included for a method for treating a sausage strand containing sausage.</p> |
