PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which sufficiently performs horizontal adjustment, reduces backlash of a platen, and secures the printing quality.SOLUTION: A printer includes: a platen 5; a platen support base 14; and a horizontal adjustment mechanism 51. The platen 5 is capable of supporting a printing medium. The platen support base 14 is disposed facing the platen 5. The horizontal adjustment mechanism 51 includes: a screw member 52; a first disc spring 55; an adjustment screw 56; and a nut 61. The screw member 52 is supported by the platen support base 14. The adjustment screw 56 engages with a screw hole 521 provided in the screw member 52. The adjustment screw 56 is rotatably attached to the platen 5. The first disc spring 55 is disposed in the adjustment screw 56. The nut 61 is disposed around the adjustment screw 56 and sandwiches the first disc spring 55 with the screw member 52 to compress the first disc spring 55. |
