PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object detection device that can measure a distance of an object with high measurement accuracy without elongating a base line length nor increasing an amount of computation.SOLUTION: An object detection device comprises: two imaging units that photograph an image and are arranged at a different location; a resolution conversion unit that converts a photographing image photographed by each of the imaging units into a conversion image of lower resolution than resolution of the photographing image; a correlation computation unit that performs correlation computation between two conversion images having the resolution converted by the resolution conversion unit; a distance calculation unit that calculates distance information in the conversion image on the basis of a result of the correlation computation between two conversion images by the correlation computation; an object recognition unit that recognizes an object on the basis of the distance information in the conversion image calculated by the distance calculation unit; and a setting unit that sets at least one of resolution to be converted and an element pertain to the correlation computation on the basis of the result recognized by the object recognition unit. |
