PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel technique effective for pest control of an Indian meal moth.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for using synthetic ultrasonic for suppressing coming flying of male imago and female imago of Indian meal moths (especially, female imago which has copulated) to a food product storage facility, in which, the synthetic ultrasonic having the following acoustic parameters is applied to the food product storage facility, for inhibiting a coming flying behavior of the male imago and female imago of the Indian meal moths (especially, female imago which has copulated. The acoustic parameters are: a) 40-60 kHz of constitution frequency; b) 20-40 ms of pulse length; c) 30-50 ms of an interval between the pulses (length of a silent part between the pulses); d) 3-7 pieces of pulses of the a) to c) being regarded one pulse group, an interval between pulse groups (length of a silent part between the pulse groups) of 100-140 ms; and e) a sound pressure of 80-120 dB SPL (measurement distance of 1 m; 0 dB SPL=20 μPa). |
