PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an A/D conversion circuit for an image sensor capable of reducing power consumption of a high-speed and high-accuracy A/D conversion circuit for a high-frame-rate and super-high-definition image sensor.SOLUTION: An A/D conversion circuit for an image sensor performs A/D conversion on a pixel signal outputted from a pixel of the image sensor to a vertical signal line and includes: a first-stage cyclic A/D converter having a conversion throughput for a first number of bits; a second-stage cyclic A/D converter connected to an output side of the first-stage cyclic A/D converter and having a conversion throughput for a second number of bits equal to or more than the first number of bits; a third-stage cyclic A/D converter connected to an output side of the second-stage cyclic A/D converter and having a conversion throughput for a third number of bits equal to or more than the second number of bits; and a flush-type A/D converter connected to an output side of the third-stage cyclic A/D converter and having a conversion throughput equal to or less than 4 bits.
