PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement an arithmetic apparatus capable of efficiently using an arithmetic circuit.SOLUTION: An arithmetic apparatus comprises a plurality of cascade-connected arithmetic units, each of the plurality of arithmetic units comprising: a calculator operating in one of a rotation mode for performing a rotation calculation and a vector mode for calculating a rotation angle; and holding means for holding rotational direction information output from a calculator in the vector mode. When operating in the rotation mode, a calculator performs a rotation calculation on data input from the arithmetic unit in the preceding stage, on the basis of the rotational direction information held in the holding means. |
