PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer or the like for detecting an attachment state of a cartridge determining abnormality of power source for detection and restricting (or interrupting in a more limited sense) supply of the power source for detection to a cartridge attachment detection circuit when the power source for detection is determined to be abnormal.SOLUTION: A printer 10 includes: a cartridge attachment section (holder section 200) capable of being attached with a cartridge 100; a cartridge attachment detection circuit 300 supplied with power source for detection 440 for detecting an attachment state of the cartridge 100; and a power supply control section 600 being provided between a node of the power source for detection 440 and the cartridge attachment detection circuit 300 and interrupting or restricting supply of the power source for detection 440 to the cartridge attachment detection circuit 300 when the power source for detection 440 is in an abnormal state. |
