The present invention consists in a laminated active dressing based on chitosan, which consists in a fine, elastic and transparent film for coating infected or non-infected ulcers, having active properties upon having biocompatible, antimicrobial and healing characteristics. The chitosan may be complemented with plasticizing agent for improving the properties of the product. This invention improves the healing process and reduces the risk of infection of skin lesions, the presence of purulent exudates, the risk of lower limb amputation, the expenses due to medical attention and the loss of skin integrity caused by the prolonged immobilization of the sick person. The method for obtaining the dressing is also revealed, this consisting in the deproteinization, demineralization and deacetylation of chitin for obtaining chitosan. The obtained chitosan is dried and milled for preparing solutions, which are poured in plates for forming films for being subsequently dried and sterilized. For i mproving the mechanical properties of the invention, it may be mixed with plasticizing agent. |
