PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce operation sound from a driving force transmission mechanism.SOLUTION: A cartridge housing device can house a cartridge equipped with a first closing member and a second closing member which can close a liquid lead-out flow passage, and comprises: movement means for moving a hollow pipe between a first position where the tip of the hollow pipe is located at the outside of the liquid lead-out flow passage and a second position where the tip of the hollow pipe enters the inside of the liquid lead-out flow passage and the hollow pipe communicates with a liquid storage part; a drive source; and a driving force transmission mechanism for transmitting driving force of the drive source to the movement means. The drive source is driven at a first driving speed during a period after the hollow pipe is moved from the first position until the tip of the hollow pipe is determined to reach a position of abutting against the first closing member, at a second driving speed faster than the first driving speed during a period after that until the tip of the hollow pipe is determined to reach a position of opening the first closing member, and at a third driving speed after the tip of the hollow pipe is determined to reach a position of abutting against the second closing member, respectively. |
