PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the leak of an electrolyte to the outside, and to achieve a high conversion efficiency.SOLUTION: A photoelectric conversion element comprises: a first substrate 1; a second substrate 2 opposed to and spaced apart from the first substrate 1; a first conductive layer 3 on the first substrate; a photoelectric conversion layer 4; a porous insulator layer 12; and a second conductive layer 5. The photoelectric conversion element further comprises: a set of sealing materials 41 provided so as to surround a region between the first substrate 1 and the second substrate 2; and an electrolyte 6 inside the region thus surrounded. The second conductive layer 5 is provided on the porous insulator layer 12 so as to be spaced apart from and opposed to the second substrate 2. The set of sealing materials 41 includes a first sealant 7; and at least one second sealant 8 provided outside the first sealant 7. The first sealant 7 includes an ultraviolet-curable resin.
