PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device capable of stably polishing an image carrier, while suppressing a dash mark in an output image.SOLUTION: Cleaning devices 5a to 5d include a cleaning roller 21 which polishes the surfaces of photoreceptor drums 1a to 1d by using toner, a toner layer thickness regulation roller 22 which regulates the thickness of a toner layer on the surface of the cleaning roller 21, and a toner receiving member 24 which is arranged just under the cleaning roller 21. The toner layer thickness regulation roller 22 is selectively arranged at a first position where it comes into contact with the outer peripheral surface of the cleaning roller 21 and the toner of the toner receiving member 24 just under the cleaning roller 21 and a second position where it comes into contact with the outer peripheral surface of the cleaning roller 21, but does not come into contact with the toner of the toner receiving member 24. |
