PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a creation method of a quality discrimination standard in a granular matter appearance quality discrimination device capable of easily creating a quality discrimination standard of granular matters.SOLUTION: There is provided a creation method of a quality discrimination standard in a granular matter appearance quality discrimination device that images granular matters by imaging means to acquire imaging data, and discriminates the quality of the granular matters on the basis of the imaging data, in which the method comprises: a granular matter mounting process of classifying a plurality of granular matters for qualities and mounting them on an imaging surface of the imaging means; an imaging data acquisition process of imaging the granular matters mounted on the imaging surface by the imaging means to acquire imaging data; a quality information acquisition process of acquiring the quality information of the granular matters for the qualities on the basis of the imaging data; and a quality discrimination standard creation process of creating a quality discrimination standard by using the quality information acquired for the qualities.
