FIELD: process engineering.SUBSTANCE: invention discloses the fabrication of hollow structural element with closed cross-section. Proposed method comprises the steps that follow. Blanking of top component with unclosed cross-section and provided with two, mainly parallel, coupling flanges extending downward. Blanking of bottom component with unclosed cross-section and provided with two, mainly parallel, coupling flanges extending upward. Coupling flanges of said top and bottom components are butt welded together. Note here that, prior to welding, said flanges are trimmed at cutting by laser unit with five degrees of freedom to make said flanges complement each other. Note also that said top and bottom components are secured in spatial compliance. In compliance with one version, trimmed edges of top and bottom components are welded together by continuous butt laser welding. Invention relates also to structural element that makes a vehicle suspension lever, or vehicle engine compartment side member, or suspension girder.EFFECT: decreased weight.6 cl, 8 dwg |
