The present invention relates to a hydrogenation catalyst and a manufacturing method thereof and, specifically, to a hydrogenation catalyst and a manufacturing method thereof, which is obtained by attaching a metal catalyst on the surface of the aggregate, while maintaining an original form of the carbon nanotube aggregate. The hydrogenation catalyst comprises: a carbon nanotube aggregate bonded with the carbon nanotube on a carrier; a residue of a radical initiator containing a terminal carboxyl group for forming a chemical bond with the carbon nanotube; and a metal catalyst for forming salts with the terminal carboxyl group.
