<p>The invention concerns a method for determining the differential pressure Pdif exerted on the control rod (44) of an actuator (20) comprising a pneumatic solenoid valve (21) controlling the movement of said rod on the basis of a control signal and a capsule (22) provided with the rod (44). According to the invention, air flow Qa in the outlet chamber (28) of the actuator is determined on the basis of outside pressure Pext, said control and a balance control that characterises the position of the magnetic core (33) of said valve; and, on the basis of air flow Qa, outside pressure Pext and the volume of the outlet chamber (28), said differential pressure Pdif is determined.
