[Problem] To provide a radar device that can transmit transmission signals appropriately in accordance with targets that are present nearby and can appropriately display response signals or the like from nearby targets or radar beacons. [Solution] This radar device is provided with a specification unit, an angular-range setting unit, and a transmission-signal control unit. The specification unit specifies a target or a region. The angular-range setting unit sets an angular range that is centered on the vessel containing the radar device and contains the target or region specified by the specification unit. The transmission-signal control unit uses different transmission-signal waveforms for directions within the aforementioned angular range and direction outside said angular range.
